On May 9, 2011, MPS people came to fix up this pothole:

But just less than five metres up the ramp, they left this pothole. I contacted MPS' Azhar on the same day in the evening. He promised to get it done. This pothole is still there this evening when I passed by (May 10). Let's see when they will come back to resurface this part of the road. Rakyat diutamakan?

Residents want Selayang council to solve traffic woes

FRUSTRATED over the bad traffic condition daily in their area, Wangsa Permai residents have sent a petition with 1,600 signatures to the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) yesterday.

They want the council to take immediate action by controlling traffic flow in the area.

Wangsa Permai Action Committee pro tem chairman Angus Ng said the traffic jam in the area was bad from 7am to 10am during weekdays and it was usually along Jalan Wangsa 2/6 and Persiaran KIP 2.

He said it sometimes took motorists almost an hour just to travel about 300m.

“The situation is bad as there is only one way out,” said Ng, adding that the problem has been there for the past five years and had led to property prices falling.

“Many shoplots here are vacant and it is difficult to find tenants due to the traffic problems, ” he said.

The population in the area is about 40,000 and there are 8,000 commercial and residential units.

Ng said although MPS had intervened before by providing a one-way traffic flow system that led to Jalan 2/6, the problem had not been resolved.

Kenny Wong, who has been residing in the area for 11 years, said there was also flash floods causing traffic congestion during peak hours near the Shell station.

Another resident Simon Khoo said the congestion made it difficult for ambulances and fire engines to move in an emergency.

MPS president Datuk Zainal Abidin Aala said the council would be sending its enforcement team to direct traffic in the area so that motorists adhered to the one-way system.

“The problem is that motorists are not following the one-way system.

“The enforcement team will look into this as well as issue summonses to those who park their vehicles in an obstructive manner,” he said.

He added that the council would also be building an “island” to direct traffic near the Ixora apartments over the next two months.

“Untill then, our enforcement team will control traffic in the area,” he said

Quarrel in Wangsa Permai over "security" issues

As I was about to leave the house at 7 plus, a quarrel between a neighbour in Jalan Wangsa 1/1 and three representatives from the Residents Association erupted.

Apparently, it was over an issue where this resident was refused entry into the housing estate where he lives. The security guard had insisted on his identity card before allowing him to enter. The reason given was that his car did not display a car sticker showing that he is paying the security fees of RM50 per month. It is believed that the resident was angry -- and he knocked down the small boom gate that blocked the entrance int

o Jalan Wangsa 1/1.

THE POINT IS ....

(1) This is a RESIDENT who is denied entry

(2) The housing estate was never intended to be a gated community in the first place, when the resident purchased the property here. The security committee who insist that other residents should follow their whims and fancies should move one to a gated community.

(3) For RM50 paid every month (every year, RM600), the place may "feel" safe, but what can and what did the security guards do when someone enters the house with a parang in broad daylight (this was what happened to a house in Jalan Wangsa Utama!)

(4) The money might as well be spent on a security alarm system or feeding a good guard dog. Or even buying household insurance to protect against burglary. When a burglary takes place, the security committee is not going to compensate a single sen to the losses. However you want to argue it, with or without the security, people's lives will still be at stake if the robbers turn up in broad daylight with a parang.

(5) In the first place, what is the use of the car stickers? To prove that the resident pays his security money? What the heck! Does that mean someone

who is not paying the security money will have to go through the hassles with the security guards? As residents, we have right of access to our property without being blocked by some unknown security guards!

(6) If the security committee has any common sense at all, they should issue stickers to all car owners in the housing estate, irrespective of whether they are paying or not. This will at least provide convenience to all house owners in the housing estate.

(7) Security committee who are trying to insist everyone pays the security money should at least realise that not everyone agrees with the way how security is being managed. There was no written agreement at the point of purchase of property, as in the case of apartments or condominiums. Perhaps, my recommendation to these few security committee members is -- move to an apartment elsewhere instead of asking us to move elsewhere! Before long, they will learn that even with security guards, robbery and murder can also happen in the high-end condominiums.

In Wangsa Permai, a neighbour's house was broken into

0ne morning between 10am - 12 noon. Just behind her house, another house was robbed in broad daylight. This, despite the security guards coming with their motorbikes, but unable to do anything because they were not armed.

The real issue here is that our boys in blue are not out there often enough to nab

the bad hats. I notice that they are busy stopping motorists or carrying out roadblocks to check on road tax. Is that where the money is?!!!!

Sidang Media: Usaha untuk Menyelesaikan Masalah Kesesakan Lalulintas di Jalan Aman, Desa Aman Puri

Persatuan Penduduk Pangsapuri Seri Puri, Aman Dua, Aman Puri dan Jawatankuasa Penduduk Zon 23 MPS akan mengadakan satu sidang media bersama untuk memberi keterangan lanjut tentang perkembangan terkini kesesakan lalulintas di Jalan Aman, Desa Aman Puri.

Jalan Aman merupakan satu-satunya jalan keluar masuk bagi penduduk di ketiga-tiga pangsapuri utama di Desa Aman Puri. 新闻发布会：处理甲洞福逸园阿曼路（Jalan Aman）交通阻塞问题

福逸园几个相关的公寓居民代表与士拉央第23区居民委员会将于2011年3月27日（星期日）举办一场有关“处理阿曼路交通阻塞问题”的新闻发布会。阿曼路是唯一一条联接Seri Puri, Aman Dua与Aman Puri的主要道路。由于居民把汽车泊放在马路两旁，导致交通非常拥挤，甚至在紧急时刻会阻碍到消防车等出入。

Syabas finally did its work

Date: 7 March 2011 (Monday)

Syabas has finally fixed the leakage within 24 hours after this was posted.

This patch of water next to Persiaran Cemara of Aman Puri (in front of Hakka Yong Tau Foo Restaurant) was first highlighted by an MPS personnel.

Despite complaints that the local council has raised with Syabas Gombak, the issue has not been solved yet.

The source: leaking underground pipe.

If left unchecked, this could cause further damage to the road.

Let's see what happens after the complaint is now raised to Syabas' director of corporate communications, Halem via email on March 7, 2011 (6:55pm).

What the heck is Syabas doing!
