UNDI PAS

The reason I am writing this is because, like many other Chinese and Indians in this country, I am pissed off with Umno. Find out why ...

Taman Wangsa Permai is in the state constituency of Paya Jeras, which is a stronghold of Umno. For many years, the Chinese voters have given their support to Umno, only to find that Umno and its publication, Utusan Melayu, continue to harp on Ketuanan Melayu, China Pendatang, India Keling and so on. People like Ahmad Ismail who called the Chinese and the Indians "Pendatang" are not being arrested for causing racial tension, whereas the Sin Chew reporter was taken into custody for a few days before the official reason was given by Syed Hamid Albar, the then Minister of Home Affairs: "It's for her security that she was detained under ISA."

When I first read that statement in the newspapers, I was truly pissed off.

Later, when Teoh Beng Hock was found dead, Utusan Melayu played up the issue accusing it to be another Chinese issue. I took the trouble to drive to Semenyih to attend the funeral. To my surprise, half of the people who turned up for this Chinese young man were Malays! I met a number of them from PAS and PKR. Only then, I realised that we all have one thing in common. We have all been sidelined by the ruling party.

When you think about it, there is really no Bumiputra or Non-Bumiputra. There is only Umnoputra and the rest of us are Capalongputra. I am sure people in Kelantan are just as Bumiputra as any Malay in this country, but even the 5% oil royalty, they are not getting! What the heck are we talking about Bumiputra rights which Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali has been championing so much. That katak which campaigned under PAS and won has failed to even campaign for the 5% oil royalty which rightfully belonging to the people of Kelantan.

In fact, within Umno, there are also those who are B-putra, especially those who were on Tengku Razaleigh's camp. Many of them have in fact left Umno to join PAS and PKR. Those who remained are people like Pak Lah, and his men, who were never strong enough to fend off the onslaught of the old Mamak Bendahara.

Rightly, what is left of Umno today is the Umnoputra (the elites like Khir Toyo with his mansion worth RM3 million only, and others who probably have millions of Ringgit stashed in some Swiss accounts). The others are just Umno members by name, with no connections, and happy with just the pittance that they are getting.

For too many years, the main stream media have played up Pas as the "extremist" Islamic party similar to what MCA was doing recently in the Tenang by-election. When you take a closer look at PAS in Kelantan, you see a different picture as pointed out by a gentleman in Tenang. In fact, while Selangor State was under Umno, no churches, Buddhist or Hindu temples could tribe built in Shah Alam, but in Kelantan, you have one of the biggest statue of Buddha in South East Asia. Even when the High Court lifted the ban on the Malay Bible and the use of the name Allah, which was banned by the Umno-led Government, churches were firebombed, and mosques attended mainly by PAS members were being desecrated with wild boar's heads WRAPPED IN PLASTICS. Until today, no one has been arrested. I wonder why!

Please join me in the next General Election to vote for PAS.
